Capture records the device’s date and time the moment the field worker taps its button. The worker decides when, but cannot type or change the time, which makes it reliable for arrival times and check-ins.
Capture can only go on field app pages, not on the Initial page.
Use cases
  • Arrival time at the customer.
  • Departure time when the job is done.
  • Check-in and check-out of a shift or a step.
  • Event time: when a machine started or a sample was taken.
  • Duration: two Captures on different pages show how long the task took.

Properties

Capture properties
  1. Type of Capture: Date and time, the only type. The value is saved with the phone’s time zone.
  2. Visible: when off, the component is hidden on the field app; the time is still kept and exported.
  3. Required: the task cannot be finished until the time has been captured.

On the field app

Capture in the preview
The block shows a button labelled Capture date time , for example Capture date time Arrival Time. Tapping it stores the current date and time. Use an Input of type Date and time instead when the worker should choose the time.
