By default each visit takes the time set on the visit, or the profile’s Default Visit Time. With Dynamic Visit Time the visit time also depends on the load: you add a number of minutes for every unit of a capacity constraint. A visit with 10 boxes then takes longer than a visit with 1 box.

  • View configuration
  • Edit configuration

Setting it up

  1. Open Planning › Routing › Configuration and go to Speed & capacity.
  2. Make sure at least one capacity constraint is ticked. Without one, the dialog says Please select at least one capacity constraint to continue configuring the dynamic visit time.
  3. Next to Default Visit Time, click Dynamic Visit Time.
  4. For each ticked constraint, type the minutes to add for every unit.
  5. Click Apply. The rules are saved to the profile right away.
Dynamic Visit Time
Each line reads Add N minutes for every 1 unit of constraint capacity, for example Add 2 minutes for every 1 kg of weight capacity. Set a line to 0 to leave that constraint out.

How the visit time is worked out

  • When the visit has no visit time of its own, its time is the Default Visit Time plus the dynamic time. Example: default 15 minutes, 2 minutes per box, a visit with 5 boxes takes 15 + 10 = 25 minutes.
  • When the visit has its own visit time, that time is used and the default and dynamic times are ignored.
Unticking or deleting a constraint also removes its dynamic visit time.
