# On Routing Dispatched

> Send the updated routing result to your own system each time it is dispatched.

**On Routing Dispatched** runs every time a routing result is dispatched on the [routing result](/pages/planning/routing/result/introduction) page.

Before dispatching, planners often adjust the result: they move visits to other vehicles or change assignees. This event sends the routing result **as dispatched**, so your system receives the final plan rather than the first optimization.

The event belongs to the **Routing Result** group. It has no task type and no rules.

<Note>
  Required permission:

  * View automation
  * Create automation
</Note>

## Set it up

1. On **Workflow › Automation**, click **New**.
2. **Name**: for example "Push dispatched routes to TMS".
3. **Event**: **On Routing Dispatched**.
4. **Automation Type**: **Webhook**, the only type this event allows.
5. Under **Automation detail**, fill in the **URL**, and optionally **Headers** (name and value, for example `Authorization`) and a **Custom JSON body**. See [Webhook](/pages/workflow/automation/actions/webhook).
6. Click **Submit** and make sure the automation is **Active**.

The form looks the same as for [On Routing Finished](/pages/workflow/automation/events/on-routing-finished#set-it-up), with the other event chosen.

## Check it works

Dispatch a routing result, then open the automation's [log](/pages/workflow/automation/log) to see the run, its status and your endpoint's response.

## Use cases

* Send the final, adjusted routes to drivers' or carriers' systems.
* Tell drivers or partners that the routes are dispatched.
* Keep dispatch status in sync with an external system.

| Event | When it runs | Data sent |
| - | - | - |
| On Routing Finished | Optimization finishes | The result as optimized |
| On Routing Dispatched | The result is dispatched | The result as dispatched, including manual changes |
