# Currency and Language

> Choose the currency your organization's amounts are shown in, and the default language.

<Note>
  Required permission:

  * View organization
  * Edit organization
</Note>

## Currency

The organization's **Currency** decides how money is shown throughout the app:

* **Bill components** in task types: prices, costs, discounts and totals. See [Bill](/pages/workflow/task-type/components/bill/introduction).
* **Currency input fields** in task types.
* **Exports**: amounts in exported spreadsheets.
* **Dashboards**: financial figures and summaries.

To change it:

1. Open **Settings › Organization**.
2. Pick a currency from the **Currency** list, for example *IDR (Rp)*. The list shows the currencies available to your organization, such as the Indonesian Rupiah, US Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Malaysian Ringgit, Thai Baht, Philippine Peso, Vietnamese Dong, Japanese Yen, Korean Won, Chinese Yuan, Australian and New Zealand Dollar, and Pakistani Rupee.
3. Click **Save**.

The new currency applies to new tasks and amounts from then on. Amounts already saved keep the currency they were saved with.

<Warning>
  Changing the currency doesn't convert existing amounts. A bill saved as Rp 50,000 doesn't become 50,000 of the new currency. Pick the currency before your team starts creating tasks with bills.
</Warning>

## Language

The organization's **Language** is the default for the app and for notifications. Each person can still choose their own language in their profile, and their choice wins. See [Profile](/pages/account/profile).
